Supported USB-C iPads can receive external video through a compatible USB Video Class (UVC) HDMI capture device for use in Live Now.

Requirements

• Compatible USB-C iPad
• UVC-compatible HDMI capture card
• Camera with HDMI output and HDMI cable

Step-by-step guide

1. Configure the camera to output a clean 1080p HDMI feed.
2. Connect HDMI OUT on the camera to the capture card input.
3. Connect the capture card to the iPad USB-C port or a powered hub if required.
4. Open Live Now and select the available external camera source.
5. Verify picture, aspect ratio, frame rate and audio before streaming.

Important notes

• Not every HDMI capture card is compatible with every iPad.
• Power draw, supported formats and iPadOS permissions can affect detection.
