How to Configure Clean HDMI Output on a Camera

Clean HDMI output sends the camera picture without menus, exposure data or focus graphics. It is recommended when connecting a camera to Live Now.

Requirements

  • Camera with HDMI OUT
  • Camera manual for the specific model

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open the camera’s video/output settings.
  2. Set the HDMI output format to 1080p when available and compatible with your capture device.
  3. Find HDMI Info Display, Display Info or a similarly named option.
  4. Disable on-screen information in the HDMI output.
  5. Connect the camera to the capture device and check that no interface graphics appear in Live Now.

Important notes

  • Exact menu names vary by Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Nikon and other brands.
  • Some cameras have different HDMI behavior in photo, video and playback modes.
