How to design custom overlays

This guide explains how to design your own custom overlays using the
Live Now Overlay Designer and use them in the Live Now mobile app.

You can design:

  • Main Scoreboard
  • Match Banner (secondary scoreboard)
  • Poster
  • Lineup

Step 1 — Open the Overlay Designer

Open your browser and go to:

https://overlay.livenow.one/

This is the official Live Now tool used to design custom overlays.

Step 2 — Choose the overlay type

Select the type of overlay you want to design:

  • Scoreboard — main score displayed during the match
  • Match Banner — secondary score shown mid-match or at the end
  • Poster — match introduction graphic
  • Lineup — starting players and substitutes

Step 3 — Customize your design

You can fully customize the overlay:

  • Colors and fonts
  • Team logo positions
  • Layout and alignment
  • Backgrounds and shapes

You can preview the design in real time while editing.

Available animation effects

  • Overlay show / hide animations
  • Score update animations
  • Goal celebration effects
  • Transition effects

These effects make your live stream look more professional and dynamic.

Step 4 — Export the overlay

When your design is finished:

  • Click Export
  • The overlay file will be downloaded to your device

This file will be imported into the Live Now app.

Step 5 — Import overlay into the Live Now app

  1. Open the Live Now app.
  2. Go to Tools → Video Recorder.
  3. Tap Overlay → Add New.

Import custom scoreboard

  • Select Scoreboard
  • Tap Import
  • Choose the exported file

Import poster, lineup or match banner

  • Select Template
  • Tap Import
  • Choose the exported file

Step 6 — Use the overlay during live streaming

  1. Start a live stream using Live Sports (Camera mode).
  2. Tap the overlay you created to display it on the live stream.
  3. Turn the overlay on or off anytime during the match.

How each overlay is commonly used

  • Scoreboard: displayed throughout the match
  • Match Banner: shown mid-match or after the match
  • Poster: shown before kickoff
  • Lineup: shown before kickoff or during halftime

Important notes

  • Custom overlays work only in Live Sports (Camera mode).
  • You can import multiple custom overlays.
  • Overlays automatically sync with Team Manage.

Result

You can design unique overlays that match your team, tournament, or brand,
and use them in your live sports streams.
