This guide explains how to use VAR Check to review match situations
by replaying recorded video, rewinding to a specific moment, or playing in slow motion
using the Live Now mobile app.
VAR Check is commonly used to review fouls, goals, or controversial situations during a match.
Overview
VAR Check works together with Instant Replay and recorded video.
When VAR mode is enabled, you can display a VAR overlay, select a recorded clip,
and control playback while streaming.
Steps
- Open the Live Now app.
- Go to Tools → Video Recorder.
- Make sure Record Video and Instant Replay are enabled.
- Tap Overlay → Add New.
- Select Template → VAR Check.
- Customize the VAR overlay:
- Add a brand logo (optional).
- Select a background image for the VAR overlay (optional).
- Tap Save to create the VAR overlay.
- Start the live stream.
- When you need to check VAR, tap the VAR Check overlay.
- Select a recorded video or replay clip.
- Rewind to the moment you want to review.
- Use playback controls:
- Play
- Pause
- Slow motion
- Rewind
Requirements
- The Live Now app must be installed.
- This feature is available on iOS only
- Record Video must be enabled.
- Instant Replay must be enabled.
Limitations
- VAR Check can only replay recorded video segments.
- Only one VAR overlay can be active at a time.
Result
The VAR overlay appears on the live stream, allowing you to replay,
pause, rewind, or play match situations in slow motion
to review decisions in real time.
